Our teachers, under the direction of our Academy director, are qualified early childhood professionals and are required to meet our exacting standards. They have been selected not only because of their knowledge and experience in the field of early childhood education, but also because their personal educational philosophy and teaching style is compatible with Brooklyn Kids Academy’s approach. Each staff member must also pass a thorough NY State mandated complete background check, a comprehensive health examination and educational training and credentialing by the state.
Staff Qualifications
The quality of our staff directly relates to the quality of our Preschool. We strive to maintain the highest quality staff. At a minimum, our staff have University Degrees in early childhood education, extensive age appropriate classroom experience and have met the following qualifications:
- • NYS Mandated Background Check
- • Physician’s health assessment
- • First aid and CPR
- • Continuous and updated NYC licensing requirements in early childhood education
We believe that learning is a life-long process, for children as well as adults. Our teachers are offered many opportunities throughout their employment to further their education and improve their teaching skills. Mandatory educational training and relevant workshops occur monthly. In addition, we encourage our staff to participate in professional organizations, and to become actively involved in the local early childhood community.
